Why our accounting firms teamed up with ADP Canada for payroll solutions

Canadian accountants Kevin Bryden and Rupesh Kapadia explain in their own words why, as principals of their own accounting firms, they partner with ADP

Author: Canadian Accountant

KEVIN Bryden and Rupesh Kapadia are two chartered professional accountants who run their own accounting firms. Bryden & Associates CPA is a full-service firm based in Truro, Nova Scotia and has beeen providing accounting services for more than 10 years. Kapadia LLP is located in North York, Ontario and also offers a wide range of services, including the Wealthy Doc System™.

In the following testimonials Kevin and Rupesh describe why they chose to partner with ADP for the payroll and HR needs of their clientele.

Referring Clients to a Trusted Outsourcing Partner

Kevin Bryden, CPA Partner, Bryden & Associates CPA Limited

Bryden & Associates CPA Limited is a full-service accounting firm that provides its clients with accounting, tax and business advisory services with a specialization in merger and acquisitions. Kevin Bryden and his team of 12 support over 300 business clients and 800 individual clients. But Bryden & Associates isn’t your average accounting firm. Instead of only supporting clients during tax season, they’re known for year-round support and partnership through strategic planning.

Outsourcing payroll equals more bandwidth

Bryden and his team have been referring clients to ADP for quite a while. Fifty of their current clients use ADP services to manage their payroll. Referring clients to ADP for payroll instead of taking the payroll on themselves — as some accounting firms do — is a massive time-saver for them. “We have more bandwidth to focus on profitable and strategic support,” says Bryden.

Because they aren’t spending valuable time running payrolls, they have more time to work on value-adding planning and building relationships with their clients. That’s why Bryden believes that their partnership with ADP and the ability to refer ADP for outsourcing their client’s payroll helps Bryden & Associates stand out from the competition.

Easy access to data

Not only has referring clients to ADP for payroll helped streamline value-adding work for Bryden & Associates it’s also helped them easily access their client’s data all in one place. Once a month, they’ll utilize the accountant access portal on ADP to pull client data. This allows them to prepare journal entries and other reporting functions without bothering the client.

A confident recommendation

When clients or colleagues ask Bryden about outsourcing payroll, he gives a firm and confident recommendation for ADP. “The first three letters out of my mouth are ADP,” Bryden says. “I know they’ll get a dedicated ADP resource to help them onboard and to reach out to if any questions arise.”

Knowing his clients will be well taken care of by a best-in-class partner is why he always recommends ADP.

Accounting Firm Payroll Services Practically Run Itself

Rupesh Kapadia, CPA, CA, Managing Partner of Kapadia LLP and CPA4Drs.com

Kapadia LLP specializes in providing tax and accounting services to medical specialists, surgeons, family medicine practitioners and dentists. Through their process, affectionately referred to as The Wealthy Doc System™, they provide expert tax, accounting and compliance services — with some help from ADP — so their clients can focus on their patients.

Doubling expertise with ADP

Before ADP, we partnered with another payroll processor, but it wasn’t enough. Our goal is to provide a strategic partnership with clients and multiply their expertise. However, with that vendor we were delivering most of the payroll and reporting services. Payroll is specialized. We wanted to focus on offering insights into other areas of our client’s business. And that’s why we partnered with ADP.

The relationship with ADP is very hands-off. They’re “the best of the best” and we’re confident our client’s payroll is being run with the highest degree of expertise. Outsourcing work to ADP lets my team go after the jobs where we can build that strategic client/accountant partnership

Dedicated ADP representative creates seamless relationship

One thing I appreciate about ADP is that we have a dedicated team working with us. In the past, if I was to refer HR services to our previous vendor, one of their “guys” would get in touch with one of my “guys,” and then they’d figure out next steps from there. It was complex.

ADP provides us with our own dedicated representative who works with my people to onboard the clients we refer. They’re familiar with our people and our processes. This helps us have a consistent straight line of information and less friction. If we can eliminate even minor steps and save time this helps both us and our clients.

ADP helps us greatly because when we have questions, they can immediately get into the system, make tweaks and come back to us, saving time and resources. This new system of having a dedicated representative for all onboarding makes us more efficient because they are familiar with our account.
